Habitat for Humanity works to build a Struthers home in just two days.

STRUTHERS, Ohio (WYTV) – Habitat for Humanity is building a new house in Struthers all in one weekend.

Volunteers started at 8:00 Saturday morning on Ridge Way Drive. All they had at that point was a foundation, but they quickly raised the walls up.

Most of the work came from a group called the Habitat Road Trip Crazies, made up of 50 volunteers from 14 different states.

Monica Craven, leader of Habitat for Humanity of Mahoning Valley, says the new homeowner is very deserving.

“She’s been in our program for about two years. She has volunteered 150 hours on many other people’s houses. She was out here all day today and she’s really excited to move into the house.”

By Saturday afternoon, volunteers had the whole structure in place and windows installed.

They will finish the house on Sunday.
