Police: Youngstown woman stabs man with steak knife

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – A Youngstown woman is jailed on felonious assault charges after police said she stabbed a man with a steak knife.

The alleged victim told police that he was visiting Cindy Bland at her home on Campbell Street when the stabbing occurred. He said he and Bland had been arguing earlier in the day, as Bland accused him of cheating on her, according to a Youngstown Police report.

The man told police that after drinking a few alcoholic drinks, he and Bland walked to the store for chicken wings and returned home. It was then that he called his female niece for a ride home, and Bland became enraged that he was talking to “another girl,” according to the report.

He said Bland shoved him outside, but when he tried to go back in to get his chicken, she stabbed him in the arm with a 4-inch steak knife.

Police said the man was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Boardman for his injuries.

An officer questioned Bland about the incident. She denied that the attack occurred, saying that blood on the couch was from a steak, not the victim, according to the report.

A roommate told police that he witnessed the man running away after the alleged attack and heard Bland saying, “He’s lucky I didn’t cut his throat!”

Bland was arrested on felonious assault charge, as well as a warrant for failing to appear in court on a driving under suspension charge.
