Police respond to shooting that injures 1 in Warren

WARREN, Ohio (WYTV) – Police responded to two calls regarding gunshots in the area of First Street SW and Spring Street SW in Warren early Tuesday morning.

Around 2:30 a.m., officers found a silver Ford Escape parked on Highland Avenue with multiple bullet holes and a shot-out window. It was unoccupied and the doors were open.

They were then called to a house on Oak Street SW on reports of a man lying on the floor, bleeding.

When officers arrived, they found the man with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg.

Both the man and his friend who was at the home refused to tell the truth about the shooting, according to police. Officers also say they denied being in the vehicle found on Highland, even though facts and circumstances place them there.

The man said he did not want police involvement and just wanted treatment for his wound.

He was taken to St. Joe’s Hospital for care.
