YPD: Argument leads to stabbing in south side home

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Police said a man throwing a pot of pulled pork led to a stabbing on Lennox Avenue Tuesday night.

Officers were called to a home in the 3400 block of Lennox Ave. around 10 p.m. and found Anthony Simmons stabbed twice in the stomach. He was taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition Tuesday night.

Police said Simmons got into an argument, reportedly throwing a roaster of pulled pork at a woman. Officers found the home in disarray when the arrived, with the contents of the 18 quart roaster flung around the room.

Simmons’ girlfriend told police that Simmons had been drinking prior to the argument with another man. During the fight, he threw the roaster at the suspect’s girlfriend, and the suspect then stabbed Simmons, she said.

No arrests have been made yet, and the people in the home did not identify the man who stabbed Simmons.
