WARREN, Ohio (WYTV) – Trumbull County Commissioner Frank Fuda is fired up over what he calls unfair hiring practices in the county.
At the weekly commissioners meeting Wednesday morning, Fuda addressed the issue, saying he’s received complaints from qualified applicants who have applied for positions at various departments and never get called back.
He said those applications sit in a file for extended periods of time.
“They’re not getting considered because, I don’t know why. They’re not getting considered and it seems like if the commissioner gives someone something, they always score the highest on the test and that’s not fair.”
Fuda said he’s talked to the people responsible for hiring about the issue for a year and a half, and he wants it to stop now. He hopes the county will start hiring candidates because they have the best skill set for that particular job.
