Warren man charged with assault after foot chase with police

WARREN, Ohio (WYTV) – Warren Police arrested a man on an assault charge early Wednesday morning after chasing him on foot.

Benjamin Pietrantonio, 28, of Warren, is charged with assault and a probation violation.

Officers were on another assignment around 12:30 a.m. when they heard an argument in the Hampshire House Apartments parking lot on Fifth Street.

They saw Pietrantonio run away as a group of people yelled for officers to “get him.”

Police found him walking on Fourth Drive and say he began to flee again.

Officers chased him on foot until they managed to apprehend him.

Pietrantonio’s girlfriend told police that he punched her in the face.

He is also being held on a parole violation out of Pennsylvania.
