WARREN, Ohio (WYTV) – John F. Kennedy Catholic School announces the hiring of Mr. Mark Komlanc as the new Boys’ Basketball Coach. Mark has spent 16 years as an assistant coach in the Valley and is a graduate of Youngstown State University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education. He began his coaching career at his alma mater, McDonald High School and has also coached at Girard and Hubbard. Most recently, Mark served as the Associate Head Coach at Warren G. Harding. Mr. Joseph Kenneally, President of John F. Kennedy Catholic School states, “I believe that Mark will bring intensity and discipline to Kennedy Basketball. As a school system, we are enthusiastic about the energy between our new coach and players and look forward to an exciting season.”
Komlanc is eager to bring his experience to the Kennedy Boys Basketball Program. He says, “I look forward to continuing and building upon the history of Kennedy’s basketball success. I value the opportunity to be a part of this program and want to focus on the history and values that Kennedy stands for to create an environment that the current players are invested in and the Kennedy Family can be proud of. I am thankful for my past experiences and grateful for the opportunities I was given at McDonald, Hubbard and Harding. I learned valuable lessons and was blessed to work with some great coaches and wonderful people. I intend to take those experiences and lessons and use them as I embark on the opportunity to be a Head Coach.”
Komlanc resides in Warren, Ohio with his wife, Kate, and his 2 young daughters, Hadley and Imogen. He is a teacher at Warren G. Harding High School.
