South Range students learn more than science with year-end project

NORTH LIMA, Ohio (WYTV) – The weather held out Friday for an end-of-the-year celebration for students at South Range Middle School.

Students from Tammy Matulek’s class launched their homemade catapult. They made the lever with donations from Home Depot. The students also got some help from two high school seniors.

The students built the catapult as a reward for their hard work during the school year.

Matulek said she hopes the student learn something beyond science.

“I hope they know there is a connection with these older kids, and one day this could be them doing this for younger students,” Matulek said. “I just want them to know that I am grateful for what they’ve done this year.”
