CORTLAND, Ohio (WYTV) – A 15-year-old from Farmdale is charged with stabbing two other juveniles in Cortland.
Police responded to a residence on Hoagland Blackstub Road in Cortland around 7:30 Tuesday evening.
Officers said a group of teenagers were arguing, and Terry Wilburn, 48, of Warren, arrived to pick up his son and his two friends.
One of the victims said Wilburn pushed him off his bike and punched him in the face. He said two others tried to hold Wilburn back, when the 15-year-old stabbed both of them multiple times.
Wilburn said the boy on the bike was blocking his way as he tried to leave. He admitted to pushing him out of the way, and said the other two tackled him.
He told police he couldn’t see who stabbed the teenagers.
Police said they found an open container of an alcoholic beverage under the driver’s seat of the van.
Wilburn is charged with assault and open container.
The 15-year-old, who police said had dried blood on his hands, was taken into custody on two counts of felonious assault. He told police he didn’t know whose blood it was.
When asked where the knife was, he said he threw it into the woods. The folding pocket knife was located Wednesday afternoon and placed into evidence.
Both stabbing victims were transported to St. Joseph Hospital for further treatment.
