WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. (WYTV) – The theme for the Shenango Valley’s Urban League Banquet on Thursday night was facing forward through change and transition.
The Urban League is a nonprofit civil rights organization.
The group is transitioning into new leadership, with new ideas and programming.
The Urban League’s new president is Dr. Erin Houston, who took the position in September. She says going forward, they want to focus on education and jobs.
“We see that there is a great need for individuals who need employment, who need help with resumes and transferable skills that will help them flourish in life. We’re here to meet that need.”
The Urban League celebrated its 48th anniversary Thursday night.
