CANFIELD, Ohio (WYTV) – Two sobriety checkpoints on Saturday in Youngstown and Boardman resulted in numerous arrests.
Authorities made a total of 21 traffic stops in Boardman at South and Larkridge Avenues. There were four arrests for OVI, another arrest on an outstanding warrant and two felony arrests for possession of heroin and tampering with evidence.
The Youngstown checkpoint at Market Street and Hilton Avenue resulted in 18 traffic stops and nine arrests. Three for OVI, and one for failure to comply with the lawful order of a police officer.
Five were felony arrests for illegal conveyance of contraband into a dentention facility, possession of cocaine, possession of ecstasy, drug trafficking and receiving stolen property.
The OVI Task Force said there were also two vehicle pursuits during the Youngstown checkpoint.
