Ashtabula City Schools hires Cochran as AD

ASHTABULA, Ohio (WYTV) – This evening the Ashtabula Area City School Board hired former Youngstown State Strength and Conditioning Coordinator, Mike Cochran, as their new athletic director. Cochran, a former multi-sport standout at Girard High School, played college football for the Penguins where he finished his career with 214 tackles. He played on the Penguins’ first Division I-AA playoff team in 1987.

Cochran also served as a strength coach at Ohio State, Akron and Marshall. Recently, he was the athletic director at Southington this past year.

Cochran will begin his new post on August 1.
