Poland powers their way back to Final Four

The Bulldogs started hot with 2 runs in the first inning

Hudson, OH (WYTV) – The Poland baseball team defeated Chagrin Falls, 13-3 Friday in a Division II Regional Final.

The Bulldogs started hot with 2 runs in the first inning before the Tigers evened things up with 2 bases loaded walks in the bottom half of the inning. Poland would regain the lead in the 3rd inning on an RBI single from Matt Baker to make it 3-2.

Anthony Calcagni and Eric White helped the Bulldogs extend the lead later in the 4th. Poland blew things open later with 6 runs in the 7th to take a 13-3 lead.

Pad O’Shaughnessy led the Bulldogs, going 4-5 with 3 RBI, two doubles, and a triple. Eric White also chipped in 3 RBI, while Don Drummond picked up his 3rd win, allowing just two hits in 4.1 IP.

Poland improves to 28-3 overall and advance to the State Semifinals next Thursday at 1 PM at Huntington Park in Columbus. The Bulldogs will face the winner of Columbus St. Francis Desales and Hamilton Badin, who play Saturday at 3 PM.
