Power lines pulled down by truck on I-80 in Mercer County

The closure started at Exit 24 and ended at Exit 29

MERCER CO., Pa. (WYTV) – Interstate 80 eastbound and westbound lanes near the Grove City exit were closed after a truck pulled down power lines on Friday afternoon.

The eastbound lanes reopened around 4 p.m. Friday.

The closure started at Exit 24 (Grove City/Sandy Lake Route 173) and ended at Exit 29 (Barkeyville Route 8), according to the PennDOT.

Penn Power has been called out to the area to repair the lines.

Traffic was backed up for miles, but started moving steadily again once the lanes reopened.

There are also some power outages in the area, according to Penn Power’s website.
