Several drug, alcohol arrests made during Sharon checkpoint

Police stopped 111 drivers, arresting nine for drug or alcohol violations

SHARON, Pa. (WYTV) – Police made four DUI arrests and five drug-related arrests during a DUI checkpoint in Sharon on Friday and Saturday.

The checkpoint to intercept impaired drivers was stationed on Dock Street in Sharon from 11 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday. During that time, police stopped 111 drivers.

The following arrests and citations were issued, according to the Pennsylvania State Police Department.

  • DUI arrests: 4
  • Seatbelt citations: 7
  • Speeding citations: 10
  • Driving under suspension citations: 3
  • Other traffic citations: 8
  • Drugs/Paraphernalia arrests: 5
  • Warnings issued: 35

Officers with the Mercer County Pennsylvania State Police, Sharon Police Department, Mercer County Sheriff’s Office and Mercer County Department of Public Safety were on hand.
