YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – State lawmakers recently approved a $1.25 million grant for the Youngstown Symphony Society, meaning the Deyor Performing Arts Center could be seeing some improvements.

The money will be used for a number of projects, including a new heating and air conditioning system, new curtains for Powers Auditorium and a digital sound system upgrade.

The president of the Youngstown Symphony Society, Patricia Syak, says the improvements will make the venue more attractive for traveling shows and their own productions.

The society hosted a reception for area lawmakers Monday night to thank them for their support in securing the grant.
