WARREN, Ohio (WYTV) – Design students from the New School in New York met with people in Warren’s Garden District on Monday to make the area a better place to live.
Together, they produced a project to re-imagine abandoned houses in Warren.
The exhibition called “Designing New Live-Work Spaces” was on display Monday night. It included photos from local artist DeShawn Scott, who took pictures of neighbors painting a mural in the Garden District.
“It brings up the value of the neighborhood but then on the other side of it too, you have a community that becomes involved. They start to care about their neighborhood,” he said.
Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership says they will keep in contact with the design students to get new ideas on how to make improvements in Warren’s neighborhoods.
