WARREN, Ohio (WYTV) – Police arrested a Warren woman Friday after they say they found her 10-year-old son home alone.
Officers responded to a residence on Reo Court around 9:30 p.m. When police arrived, the 10-year-old answered the door. He was home alone with an 11-year-old neighbor, according to a police report.
The boy told officers that his mother, Stacy Harmon, was not home and a neighbor and Harmon’s boyfriend were watching him, but they left. He told police he had been home alone for about an hour.
Officers observed a vehicle pull into the parking lot recklessly several minutes later. One of the front tires was off and the rim was exposed.
Police said Harmon, 30, was driving the vehicle and was intoxicated and incoherent.
When they asked her about her son, she said she didn’t know he was home alone and thought another adult was watching him. Officers said she also did not know she was driving on only three good wheels.
While arresting Harmon and transporting her to the jail, officers said she was screaming “they are raping me” and kicking in the backseat of the police cruiser. Police said she also threatened to rape and murder an officer’s family.
Harmon is charged with child endangering, menacing and disorderly conduct while intoxicated.
