Trash was strewn across both access ramps

A semi rolled over on the Route 711 ramp onto I-680 in Youngstown, Ohio.

YOUNGSTOWN,Ohio (WYTV) – A traffic accident early Tuesday morning shut down ramps onto a busy highway in Mahoning County.

Both the off and on ramps from Route 711 to Interstate 680 south were closed after a tractor trailer hauling trash tipped over.

The accident happened about 12:30 a.m. Trash was strewn across both access ramps.

One of the ramps was reopened by 5:30 a.m., and the other was open at 10:20 a.m. after the debris trash was cleared from the area.

Police believe the driver was going too fast coming off of Route 711 onto I-680 when he lost control of the semi. He was taken to Saint Elizabeth Health Center with minor injuries.
