BAZETTA TWP., Ohio (WYTV) – The Bazetta Township Police Department was awarded a certification from the state for adopting new police standards.
Bazetta joins several law enforcement agencies which recently became certified by meeting Ohio’s new standards for use of force, including deadly force, agency recruitment and hiring.
The police department has fully implemented the new policies that were recently established by the Ohio Collaborative Community-Police Advisory Board as part of an ongoing effort to improve and strengthen community and police relations.
“It’s a huge milestone for our department. Being a smaller department, it’s important that we are professional and these standards are set forth by the state of Ohio, and we meet every one of them,” said Chief Michael Hovis.
Bazetta is the only agency in Trumbull County that has received the certification.
