Board of Trustees tour Youngstown State University’s campus

Administrators said with new trustees beginning new terms, they wanted to make sure the Board has a good understanding of the facilities

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Members of the Youngstown State University’s Board of Trustees and others took a tour of the campus buildings on Wednesday.

They walked through Moser Hall and the Ward Beecher Science Building with Provost Martin Abraham and the new Dean of the STEM College Dr. Wim Steelant, who was just hired in March.

Administrators said with new trustees beginning new terms, they wanted to make sure the Board has a good understanding of the facilities.

“They have their meetings. They’re in one building. That’s pretty much what they see, and we talk about a lot of things that they’re just not familiar with because they haven’t seen it, and so this opportunity is to give them a chance to see what the facilities look like,” Abraham said.

Administrators say they would like to tour at least two buildings on campus prior to each of the Board’s quarterly meetings, but with close to 30 facilities on campus, the Provost admits it will likely take awhile to get to all of them.
