Allegiant celebrates 10 years at airport in Vienna

Since flights began in 2006, Allegiant has carried over 590,000 passengers between the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport and vacation destinations

VIENNA, Ohio (WYTV) – Allegiant is celebrating ten years of flights in the Mahoning Valley by giving away free tickets as a token of their appreciation.

The airline gave ten customers $200 in Allegiant flight vouchers on Friday at an event commemorating the milestone anniversary.

Since flights began in 2006, Allegiant has carried over 590,000 passengers between the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport and vacation destinations including Punta Gorda, St. Pete, Orlando and Myrtle Beach. It may also be looking to add another stop from Vienna.

“We’re one of their better-producing airports. We’re very low overhead to them, they appreciate that, so I did discuss an additional destination with them last week at the airline meetings,” said Aviation Director Dan Dickten.

He couldn’t say where that stop would be, in case YNG isn’t picked for the additional destination.
