BOARDMAN, Ohio (WYTV) – The Golden Corral in Boardman permanently closed its doors to the public again on Monday after reopening less than two years ago.
Management is again citing low sales for the closure.
In January of 2014, the restaurant shut down, saying business for the buffet restaurant wasn’t “robust enough” to support keeping it open, and extreme weather was another catalyst in the final decision to close.
On Monday, the restaurant’s district manager said the location couldn’t generate enough revenue to stay in business. About 45 to 50 employees are losing their jobs, and management is working to get those workers jobs at other Golden Corral restaurants in the area.
A sign on the door says the restaurant is closed permanently and encourages customers to go to the Hermitage location. A moving truck was also at the restaurant Monday afternoon.
