Kelly Pavlik appears for pretrial on pellet gun shooting

Pavlik was indicted last March on felonious assault charges


YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Former boxer Kelly Pavlik was back in a local courtroom Monday morning.

The one-time champion was spotted arriving at the Mahoning County Courthouse downtown for a pretrial hearing.

Pavlik was indicted last March on felonious assault charges. Prosecutors say he shot at another man outside his Canfield Township home with a pellet rifle, hitting the man in the arm.

Monday morning, lawyers set a trial date for the case in early December.
