Youngstown man indicted on felonious assault, domestic violence charges

Police said Jonathan Cunning punched his girlfriend in the mouth, knocking out her teeth

WARREN, Ohio (WYTV) – A Youngstown man has been indicted on felonious assault and domestic violence charges in relation to the assault of a girlfriend in April.

Jonathan Cunning, 24, was arrested after officers were sent to Stull Avenue in Girard for a woman who said she fell down the stairs and knocked out her teeth. Police said the woman later admitted that Cunning actually punched her in the mouth.

The woman told police that Cunning had been violent with her in the past, and police said he has a history of criminal charges including burglary, safecracking, resisting arrest, reckless endangerment, robbery of a motor vehicle, aggravated assault and receiving stolen property.
