CLEVELAND, Ohio (WYTV) – The parade and rally to welcome home the 2016 NBA champions Cleveland Cavaliers began Wednesday afternoon.
Fans were already lining up before 5 a.m. at Quicken Loans Arena where the parade kicked off.
The community victory celebration featured floats, specialty vehicles, The Ohio State University Marching Band and the anticipated appearance of the 2016 NBA Champion Cleveland Cavaliers.
Interstate 480 was bumper to bumper traffic heading into the city.
The parade started near Quicken Loans Arena and traveled through the streets of downtown Cleveland. The procession was followed by a rally on Mall B, which featured a special program of celebration with an array of entertainment and special presentations from the Mountain Dew Stage.
Cleveland won the city’s first major sports championship in 52 years on Sunday night, beating Golden State in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.
