NEW CASTLE, Pa. (WYTV) – A Lawrence County couple decided to get married at their favorite restaurant in New Castle after being together for 30 years.
Dale Six is a frequent customer at the Bob Evans on W. State Street. Each morning he spends a few hours there, chatting with the staff and drinking coffee.
His everyday routine changed Thursday afternoon when he married his new wife, Barbara.
“We’re ancient history, this happened a long time ago. We met about 31 years ago and we’ve been together ever since,” Dale said. “Of course I’m excited, why wouldn’t I be?!”
Family and friends enjoyed staying in the same place for the wedding and reception, but also loved seeing the two tie the knot.
“I really never saw my brother so happy,” said Dale’s sister and maid of honor, Althea Welch.
“To see them get married and be so happy, it’s just a blessing,” said best man Robert Welch.
While the wedding venue might seem out of the ordinary to most people, it’s not surprising for those who know the couple. Dale says he’s at Bob Evans once or twice a day and two or three times a week for dinner.
“It’s just like home.”
“He’s up here all the time, so I figured we might as well,” Barbara said.
General Manager Jason Cox couldn’t say no to one of his most loyal customers.
“I was just like, ‘Whatever you want, Dale, we’ll do whatever it takes to make your day.'”
The couple says the secret to wedded bliss is just enjoying time together.
