Truck rollover accident spills gas, oil, antifreeze in Boardman

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WYTV) – A Wolford’s truck flipped onto its side in Boardman Thursday evening, spilling its contents onto the roadway.

The fire chief said the driver was making a left turn onto Market Street from Shields Road, when the load shifted and the truck rolled around 6:15 p.m.

The driver, 58-year-old David Wolford, of McDonald, was cited for failing to maintain control of his vehicle. He was not hurt.

Ohio State Highway Patrol said the truck contained demolition debris that spilled onto the roadway, along with a large amount of gasoline after the crash punctured a fuel tank.

The Mahoning County Hazmat Team cleaned up gas, oil and antifreeze.

The northbound lane of Market Street near Brockwood Avenue was closed for around three hours during the clean up.
