Boardman man takes plea deal in vehicular homicide case

Ryan Ferrebee faces six months in jail for OVI and vehicular homicide

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – A man charged with running over another man as he crossed the street near Mill Creek Park decided to take a plea deal.

Ryan Ferrebee was in court on Monday, where he pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide and OVI. He faces six months in jail on the charges.

Police say Ferrebee was drunk when he hit Jorge Guartan in April of 2015 on Glenwood Avenue. Guartan died from his injuries.

Ferrebee was offered a plea deal last month but refused, saying he wanted a trial by a judge without a jury. He changed his decision on Monday.

Ferrebee is scheduled to be sentenced on the charges within 45 days.
