WARREN, Ohio (WYTV) – Members of the Trumbull County Democratic Party will be choosing a new auditor for Warren this week.
The 38 members representing the city will get together at their headquarters at the Trumbull Business College on Ridge Road.
They will each have three minutes to give their reasoning for supporting a candidate.
So far, two city council members, Vince Flask and Eddie Colbert, have expressed interest in taking the position, but there is still time for interim-auditor Nancy Ruggieri to show interest if she so chooses.
“She’s filling in right now but she hasn’t called or expressed interest of seeking the position. So, you have this whole week to do that. I haven’t heard from her but there may be other people getting in the race,” said Dan Polivka, chairman of the Trumbull County Democratic Party.
Whoever is picked on Friday will be auditor until the general election in November.
