WARREN, Ohio (WYTV) – A Warren man is facing multiple charges after police said while under the influence of drugs, he crashed his vehicle into a telephone pole with a toddler in the car.
Christopher Worden, 38, was taken to Trumbull Memorial Hospital after police found him passed out in his vehicle on Parkman Road NW Friday night, according to a police report. Police said Worden’s vehicle had struck a pole and was facing the wrong way, against traffic.
A 3-year-old boy was in the backseat.
Worden, who police said had no visible injuries, was revived with Narcan, an opioid-reversal drug. Suspected heroin was found in his wallet, according to police.
Worden refused to submit blood for testing at the hospital.
He was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs, failure to control, drug possession and endangering children. Worden also had warrants for theft charges, according to jail records.
The child was taken by his mother, and Trumbull County Children Services was called to investigate.
Worden remains in Trumbull County Jail and was scheduled to be appear in court on the charges Monday.
