Extra security screenings expected for flights to Republican National Convention

There will be a brief lay over for a security screening

You can now buy tickets from the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport to Chicago, for flights starting July 1.

VIENNA, Ohio (WYTV) – If you are planning to fly to the Republican National Convention in July, don’t expect a direct flight.

First News has learned that there will be a brief lay over, either at Winner Aviation at the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport or in Akron for a security screening.

Chartered or private aircrafts that aren’t already under a TSA program or Secret Service protection would visit for a brief screening by TSA or the aircraft and passengers.

They then would be permitted to take off and land at either Burke Lakefront or in Cleveland.
