Primanti Bros. kicks off Niles opening with free sandwiches

The restaurant will be open at 3 p.m. Thursday and Friday

More than a hundred people waited in line outside of Primanti Bros. in Niles early Wednesday morning, trying to be a part of the preview lunch.

NILES, Ohio (WKBN) Primanti Bro.’s newest location in Niles is now officially open.

More than a hundred people waited in line outside the restaurant early Wednesday morning, trying to be a part of the preview lunch. The first 100 people in line also got free sandwiches for a year.

Daniel Boyle, of Niles, was part of the lucky 100. He said he’s excited for the restaurant to be in his hometown.

“I kept going by the [Eastwood} Mall to watch it being built and checking on it, and actually, I was told it was gonna open the first of June. I was here and they weren’t open, so I just wanted and waited and waited and finally it opened,” he said.

The move to Niles created about 100 new jobs for the area, something restaurant management said they are proud of.

“When you think about Primanti Brothers and our heritage in Pittsburgh, it’s about kinda like hard-working people with a lot of hometown pride, and that’s what Youngstown is about. That’s what the whole Valley is about. That’s what Niles is about, so it’s a perfect place for us and we’re just very excited to be here,” said Ryan Wilkinson.

The restaurant will be open at 3 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Normal hours begin Saturday.
