Harry Stevens, an Englishman who settled in Niles, Ohio, invented the great American hot dog. He ran ballpark concessions and brought out the hot dog for a ball game in a cold April ballgame in 1901.

Mustard is the most popular topping. Ketchup a close second.

Hot dogs have been in space on Apollo flights.

We will eat 150 million hot dogs on July 4. 7 billion hot dogs this summer, spending 2.5 billion dollars.

The hot dog eating contest record is 62 hot dogs in 10 minutes.
