Police: Warren woman shown on video stabbing baby’s father

Adashanate Daniels, 20, is charged with felonious assault

WARREN, Ohio (WYTV) – A Warren woman has been charged with stabbing the father of her child in an incident police said was captured on video.

Police said the stabbing happened at a Commerce Avenue home on Thursday night.

The alleged victim told police he dropped his daughter off at her mother’s house when he got into an argument with the woman, identified as 20-year-old Adashanate Daniels. He said he began to record Daniels as she followed him to his car while holding a glass jar and the child in her arms.

Police said the video showed Daniels trying to swing the glass jar at the door of the man’s car and then pulling out a knife and stabbing him in the side while her cousin tried to intervene. Daniels could also be heard yelling, “I’ll kill you,” according to a police report.

Police said while they were in the hospital with the victim, Daniels called to report that she had been assaulted. Police attempted to call Daniels, but she would not answer the phone and officers were unable to find her.

A felonious assault charge was filed against Daniels on Friday, but as of Friday afternoon, she had not been arrested.

Police said the man’s cut was at least a half inch deep and nurses were unsure of how much damage had been done.
