Donation will bring kid’s author to public library for summer program

The Home Savings Charitable Foundation donated to support the children's summer reading program at the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County received $10,000 to go toward its summer reading program for children.

The Home Savings Charitable Foundation donated the money to help fund a special breakfast with Nancy Krulic, author of the Katie Kazoo and George Brown books. Kids who earn eight badges through the program by July 23 will be invited to attend.

The Summer Discovery Program began June 1 and runs through August 13. There are reading programs for babies, children, teens and adults that are detailed on the Public Library’s website.

In addition to earning rewards for reading, participants can enjoy several activities and presentations through Summer Discovery.
