WELLS TWP., Ohio (WYTV) – The man who led police on a chase on State Route 11 is facing several charges related to the incident.
Ricky Crawford is charged with three felonies: failure to comply, resisting arrest and improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle. He also faces misdemeanor charges of improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle and OVI.
The chase started around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Jefferson County and ended with a standoff in Calcutta.
Crawford was taken into custody around 5 p.m. Tuesday. He is scheduled to be arraigned Friday.
Wells Township Police said Crawford was suicidal. They said he had a gun, but mostly pointed it at himself during the standoff with police.
