NILES, Ohio (WYTV) – Cleveland Indians’ Outfielder Michael Brantley continued his rehab assignment with the Single-A Mahoning Valley Scrappers Monday night.  He batted second and started in left-field.

The former All-Star went 1-2 with a walk in Mahoning Valley’s 6-5 loss to Tri-City.

Brantley drew a walk in his first plate appearance at Eastwood Field in the first inning.  He stepped to the plate with the bases loaded in the second inning, and popped out to end the frame.  His final trip to the plate came in the fourth inning when he singled to right to complete his night.

Brantley’s rehab assignment is slated to continue Wednesday night at Single-A Lake County. If all goes well, the plan is for him to move on to Double-A Akron this weekend.
