Man who escaped Sharon corrections center taken into custody

Defendant Cody Allen Kuntz escaped the facility by running out of the kitchen door.


SHARON, Pa. (WYTV) – An inmate who escaped the Sharon Community Correction Center on Friday was taken into custody on Monday, according to the Pennsylvania State Police.

Police said Cody Allen Kuntz, 23, escaped the facility by running out of the kitchen door.

Kuntz was seen carrying a large garbage bag containing his clothing. The escape was witnessed by a Community Correction monitor.

A warrant was issued for his arrest after he didn’t return.

Kuntz was serving a sentence for drug manufacturing/sale/delivery or possession with intent to deliver, a felony charge. The Sharon Community Correction Center is a halfway house used to house and rehabilitate criminals.
