AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – As summer continues, one neighborhood will now have a new hot spot for kids to play.
Austintown Township and Park officials joined the public Monday morning for the official opening of the new playground in the park.
The park’s makeover was made possible by Mr. and Mrs. Walter Terlecky, the benefactors that funded the project.
Austintown Township Trustee Ken Carano said he is appreciative of the donation.
“The fact of the matter is, it was a phenomenal blessing to us because all the costs of things that are going on in this park and throughout Austintown are coming out of what is known as the Westchester Fund. So we can’t thank the Terlecky family enough,” he said.
The park makeover, which cost roughly $90,000, includes the construction of a new playground area, improvements to the Splash Pad and the construction of a Pickleball Court.
