SHARON, Pa. (WYTV) – The City of Sharon is looking for volunteers to help out with its WaterFire Sharon event on Saturday.
Organizers say they are short of the 350 volunteers needed for the annual event.
There are different jobs for everyone, and most volunteers are only scheduled to work two-hour shifts.
Some of the volunteer opportunities include hanging “no parking” signs, stacking wood, setting up t-shirts and other items at merchandise tables, and helping with children’s activities. Anyone interested in volunteering can learn more about the different jobs and sign up online.
WaterFire Sharon is an arts and music festival, followed by a ceremonial lighting of over 50 braziers placed in the Shenango River.
Last year’s event brought 60,000 people to the area.
