WYTV president joins Eastern Gateway Community College Board

New board members, David Coy and Carter Lewis, took their oaths of office during the board's July 13 meeting

Two Youngstown State University alumni, including the president and general manager of WKBN, are the newest members of Eastern Gateway Community College's Board of Trustees.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Two Youngstown State University alumni, including the president and general manager of WYTV, are the newest members of Eastern Gateway Community College’s Board of Trustees.

David H. Coy and Carter P. Lewis took their oaths of office during the board’s July 13 meeting.

Coy, the president and general manager of WKBN/WYFX-TV and WYTV/MyTV in Youngstown, is a resident of Poland. He graduated from YSU in 1982 with a bachelor of science degree in business administration and joined WYTV that same year as a local account executive. He was promoted within the station’s sales department until he was named president and general manager in 2003.

Coy is active in the advertising and local communities. Among his many activities, he is currently an advisory board member for the Salvation Army of Youngstown; a member of the Better Business Bureau Board of Directors; a member of the Regional Chamber Board of Directors; an advisory board member of Ronald McDonald Children’s Charity; serves on the board of directors of the Ohio Association of Broadcasters and is a member of the Cleveland Ad Club.

Lewis, of Warren, is the chief executive officer for Lewis Development Corp. The company manages properties and tenants in the Warren-Youngstown area and in San Diego, California. He is a 1973 graduate of YSU, where he majored in accounting and minored in finance.

Lewis also sits on many local boards.
