Hubbard issues mandatory water conservation, boil alert

Hubbard City Water customers should refrain from any unnecessary water usage during this time

HUBBARD, Ohio (WYTV) – The City of Hubbard issued a mandatory water conservation and boil alert due to repairs of a main transmission line.

The boil alert began at 6 p.m. Monday, while repairs are made on the line. The alert will be in effect until further notice, after laboratory tests confirm that the water is safe to drink.

Hubbard City Safety Service Director Daniel Livingston said customers should refrain from any unnecessary water usage during this time, such as watering gardens or filling swimming pools. Car washes in the area have been shut down to save water.

Livingston said if water conservation measures are not taken, the city will run out of water.

He said customers should boil their water for one minute before drinking, cooking or using to brush their teeth.

Only Hubbard City Water customers are affected.
