BEAVER TWP., Ohio (WYTV) – The Beaver Township Police Department was called to investigate reported threats made by a Sharon resident against Donald Trump.

Police said a woman from Georgia forwarded screenshots of the threats, posted on a Facebook page, to Beaver Township Police. The messages said the suspect intended to assassinate the Republican presidential candidate during a live feed on Fox News during the Republican National Convention.

Police said the man lived in Sharon.

The case was forwarded to the Youngstown office of the Federal Bureau of Investigations. FBI Spokeswoman Vicki Anderson said the case was likely forwarded to the Secret Service, which would handle such investigations.

It is unknown whether the man has been charged at this time. The Secret Service has not yet returned a call for comment.
