NILES, Ohio (WYTV) – A 33-year-old Niles man was charged with felonious assault Friday after police said he pulled a knife on another man during a fight.

The alleged victim told police that Alexander Otero was on his property despite being warned not to come there again. He said he began arguing with Otero when Otero pulled a knife out and tried to hit him. According to a police report, the man then punched Otero in the face and the fight was broken up by neighbors.

Police said a knife was found at the scene, in the 100 block of Cherry Ave.

Otero was stopped in a go cart on Lafayette Avenue and Pearl Street, and he was arrested and taken to Trumbull County Jail. Police additionally charged Otero with driving under suspension and physical control of a vehicle while under the influence, according to jail records.
