Triglycerides are one of the main components of body fat and monitoring them is very important in many facets of health. One facet being the role they play in the prevention of cardiovascular disease.
Triglyceride levels have a correlation with the two types of cholesterol. The higher the levels of triglyceride, the more likely the body is to have low levels of good cholesterol. This also means there is a large chance of high levels of bad cholesterol, which combined with high levels of triglyceride, can be very deadly.
