YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – A judge has ordered a mental competency evaluation for a Youngstown murder suspect.
Bernard Barnes is accused of shooting 57-year-old Kenneth Evans in May. Evans died as a result of his injuries.
Prosecutors said an argument over a woman prompted the shooting.
The victim was found at a home in the 1900 block of Manhattan Ave. with a gunshot wound to the stomach. Barnes was arrested a short time later after police were able to track his cell phone to a location near W. Laclede Avenue.
