LIBERTY, Ohio (WYTV) – A large donation was made Thursday from the Liberty Wal-Mart store to a Trumbull County group that helps veterans.
The Walmart Foundation gave $35,000 to Veterans Outreach. The group’s “Serve Veterans NOW” program gives meals to veterans in need.
Bob Julian, of Veterans Outreach, said the money will help start a new service.
“It means a lot to help the veterans, the veterans who are in need, especially for food,” he said. “This will help us set up a food bank, just for veterans.”
Julian said the food bank will open in Trumbull County. Currently, his agency works with 4,000 area veterans.
