Youngstown woman convicted of steak knife stabbing

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – A Youngstown woman who police said stabbed a man with a steak knife as he was trying to get chicken he left in her home pleaded guilty on Thursday.

Cynthia Bland was charged with felonious assault. She appeared in Mahoning County Court of Common Pleas, where she entered her plea.

Police said Bland stabbed a man at her home on Campbell Street in April after an argument. The victim told police that Bland accused him of cheating on her earlier in the day, and when he returned to her home get his chicken that he left there, Bland stabbed him in the arm with a 4-inch steak knife.

He was taken to the hospital for his injuries.

Bland denied the stabbing, and when questioned about blood on her couch, she told an officer that it was from a steak.

Sentencing has been set for 9:30 a.m. August 30.
