Owner of Youngstown gas station, man exchange gunfire

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – The owner of a Youngstown gas station and a man exchanged gunfire on Monday afternoon.

The shooting happened at the Valley Service Center, located at 1564 Mahoning Ave.

Ahmad Mashqbeh, the owner of Valley Service Center, reported he threw a customer out of the store and that man then threatened to “come back and shoot up the store,” according to a police report. He said the man went to his car, got a gun and started firing at the front of the building around 4 p.m.

Mashqbeh returned fire, striking the SUV that the man was driving through the rear windshield.

The customer, later identified by Youngstown Police as Maurice Clinkscale, was treated for a gunshot wound to the back of the head.

Police are investigating the incident, and no one has been charged at this time.
